Quality Engineer will be responsible for improving and verifying the quality of repair products, test  procedures, warranty reports, ensuring proper training of technicians; review and maintain repair  procedures; interface with engineering and operations to ensure transfer to production of new  products are in accordance with approved data and test procedures; work with sales to respond to  customer issues and institute preventative and corrective actions.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the business and business strategy with a focus on business processes and  transactional operations 

• Monitor and analyze data and trends to identify potential opportunities, needs, issues, and  problems that could impact business results 

• Understand and interpret customer needs/issues in defining quality and establishing quality  priorities 

• Review engineering repair procedures to ensure production compliance

• Serve as a catalyst for change; actively involved in process change and development

• Act as a subject matter expert and point of contact to execute process improvements

• Share and educate workforce on all aspects of continuous improvement, green / black belt  methodologies

• Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems

• Evaluate work orders in the Warranty Evaluation Management System reports for thorough  root cause analysis and appropriate corrective actions

• Evaluate and introduce new test methods and test platforms to extend capabilities

• Keep up-to-date with developments in technologies and regulations

 

Qualifications:

• BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering 

• Six Sigma Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred

• 3+ years experience in Lean Six Sigma

• 3+ years experience with ISO 9001

• 3+ years of project/process management experience to include root cause analysis and  business process improvement experience

• 5+ years of experience in design development 

• Analytical / quantitative approach to problem solving; knows how to obtain and use data, and  comfortable with statistical concepts

• Serves as a leader and catalyst for Change Management

• Proficient with general electronics test equipment, ie: Oscilloscopes, Function generators,  programmable power supplies, DVM' s, differential voltage probes, current probes, etc.

• Previous repair experience a plus
