This individual is responsible, under the direction of the warehouse manager, for activities related to material handling, identification, separation, and repackaging of batteries received via bulk and parcel collection recycling programs. Disassembly and evaluate of hybrid / electric automotive batteries, standby power units and electronic scrap removing batteries and components for recycling.   
  • Work with high voltage batteries
  • Understanding of electric current and amperage and use of a volt meter
  • Understand electronical and electronics theory
  • Move material from storage to work station
  • Classify and sort batteries in types and models
  • Determines safest way to disassemble units and follows disassembly guidelines
  • Lead the development of detailed work instructions, training documents and guidelines
  • Train other operators in the area and all facilities the process
  • Lead area recycling and reuse activities in area
  • Delegate / direct activities for other personnel in the area
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Report on area production output and performance
Work Experience & Requirements:
  • Able to lift 10-50 pounds on occasion
  • Basic computer skills word, excel, outlook and receiving software
  • Proficient with power tools and basic hand tools
  • Basic math skills
  • High voltage training and specialized P.P.E.
  • Familiar with polarities
  • Able to operate electronic test equipment
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as in a self-directed mode
  • Basic supervisory and delegation skills
  • Project management fundamentals
  • High school degree
  • Electrical training a must
  • Electrical / Electronics associates degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory / industrial environment
