SUMMARY. Assembles, tests, and repairs complex electronic circuit boards and electromechanical assemblies according to work instructions. Occasionally travels to customer field locations to perform installations and repairs.
Electronic Skills: Performs various tests on electronic circuit boards using standard and specialized test equipment. Must be able to solder and desolder through hole and surface mount components. Must be able to read and interpret electronic schematics. Responsible for troubleshooting complex PC board assemblies to the component level. Also responsible for loading firmware onto electronic processors.
Production Specifics: Performs a variety of routine assembly tasks according to work instructions and drawings with minimum supervision. Must be able to follow testing procedures and interpret results. Work performed must meet quality standards as specified in appropriate specifications. May serve on Quality Team.
Chemical Sensor Specifics: Has skills required to set up and operate a variety of sensor related equipment including vapor generation equipment, fume hoods, plasma cleaners, and related gas calibration equipment after suitable instruction.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: An Associates Degree in electronics (or equivalent). Minimum of 5 years experience with electromechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good communication skills in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
