  • Familiar with design and construction of Government and Commercial Ships.

  • Provide preliminary design and schedule impacts for each designated change
  • Assist in special projects assigned by Change Control Manager
  • Position involves frequent, regular interaction with all levels of MMC’ s operations/senior staff.
  • Position involves frequent, regular interaction with customer, as requested by Change Control Manager.

  • B.A. Degree with an Engineering background or 7 plus years of shipbuilding industry experience
  • Three (3+) years of progressive responsibility in administration, management control and/or accounting of technical/professional services in the shipbuilding industry.
  • Possess a knowledge of marine systems including but not limited to: structural, outfitting, machinery, hydraulics, electrical, mechanical, electronics, HVAC, etc. 
  • Knowledge of or experience with Proposal software such as ProPricer is preferred. 1
  • Proficiency is required in the use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word
  • Experience with Design Software tools such as AutoCAD, ShipConstructor and Navisworks is preferred
  • Experience as a Project Engineer preferred
  • Ability to participate in technical complex ship design and construction discussions to identify root causes of problems and formulate solution paths

  • Knowledge of Government contracts helpful but not necessary? Ship design and/or shipbuilding experience
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and practices (or equivalent Cost Schedule Status and reporting experience)
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Review, scope, estimate, and prepare packages for customer change requests.
  • Effectively communicate and direct department coordinator’ s in day-to-day work assignments.
  • Using ProPricer, Microsoft Excel and Word programs will use advanced formulas and templates to prepare submittal packages for requests.
  • Frequent ship checks and drawing reviews are necessary for the successful completion of job tasks.
  • Have excellent written and verbal skills to interface with all levels of the organization through the attendance of meetings and written memos.
  • Will represent the company in Engineering Review Boards where technical ship design discussion will take place.
  • Will track all changes from Proposal development to implementation
